Alpine
Gray hued brute led the way into the open field before entering his terra. On the sweltering summer day, the shade of the large willow trees was truly comforting and he breathed deeply the smell of the forest. The sound of the creek trickling through could be obviously herd and he made his way over, pistons halting his movement at the edge as he dipped his muzzle into the cool water, taking a few sips and welcoming the pair to drink as well. Grass bordered the edges of the trees and a small clearing in the center supported a pretty emerald circle that came up to his knees.
The steed turned to watch them, forelock blowing slightly to the side as his kissers turned towards the sky slightly.
To your liking?

Jade halted, raising her crown as she looked over the territory. There was no hiding the admiration in her eyes, and she leaned her head into the welcome breeze that the trees danced for her. It was truly beautiful. Walking down to the creek, Jade’s subtle movements displayed her attentiveness to the surroundings. Lowering her velvety maw gently, she took a few sips, looking over towards her lad to make sure he was still by her side. Jade lowered her eyelids as her dark pools caught sight of the singed coat on his left haunches. Because he wore that horrid brand, he would always be in danger of being captured, and she didn’t want captivity for her son. That was why Alpine must go above and beyond to prove himself for her. All she needed was dependable protection – for her and her son. "Yes," She said quietly, her mind venturing somewhere else.

Alpine
He sensed her slight distraction but he said nothing of it, continuing to walk around, eyes and ears paying attention. His auds swiveled left and right as he carefully surveyed for any different noises and his dark orbs moved between the horizon and the pair before him.
It needs a herd.
The truth it was. The Willow Forest was a beautiful place to have no one living in it, other than Alpine that was and it was a lonely life on his own. He stretched slightly, pelt rippling over muscles under the silver coat of hair that shimmered in the slight sunlight that slipped between the trees.

And so do I, Jade thought to herself. And yet, she was not so easily won over. Turning to Alpine, the sun glinted off her pelt, shining like a black and white canvas. Her dark pools looked curiously towards the stallion, and the glint in her eye brought on a challenging question. "What makes you different Alpine? Why should I choose you instead of any other stag that comes along?"

Alpine
The silver steed stared at her for a long few moments, not responding to the question. Finally after a great pause his kissers opened.
There are probably other steeds worthy of your attention as well, but I doubt you'll find one as loyal and protective as me. I won't try to bribe you over for it is your choice, but i'm willing to give you both a good life.
His face remained calm and serene as dark pools watched her and long tresses whipped gently around his face at the slight breeze, his forelock extending to mid face.
He stood like a statue, not tense, but tall and proud. He was a powerful brute, as the muscles throughout his body showed. He would protect them, he always protected his herd members. It was her choice if she wished that or not.

...Decisions...
Even Marengo contributed to the silence that clung to the breeze. Jade's look on the stallion was intent, but suddenly her ears flickered, as something made the mistake of making its presence known too early. Maybe she was being paranoid - that came with having a lad to look after. But the instinctive shiver that ran through her spine told her otherwise. In this haven - they were not alone.
...Time to Prove Yourself...

Alpine
The steed dipped his crania low to the ground and tore a few strands of grass from the Earth, chewing on them as he watched Jade. It was her decision and no one could make it but her so he remained silent, allowing her to think on her own for he didn't want to influence her or force her. If she stayed he wanted it to be by her own choice.

Jade looked around, her muscles tensed and ready to burst. Swiveling her ears, dark pools looked towards Alpine to see him grazing. What was wrong with him? But Jade suddenly realized that nothing was wrong with him. It was about her. There was no danger. It was all in her head. Jade knew that she wasn't going to stop being paranoid unless she had someone else to depend on. A partner that she could trust. Her muscles relaxing, Jade flicked her tail, feeling the sweat that had built up on her quarters. Looking towards Alpine, Jade spoke, feeling slightly embarrassed, but her vocals composed. ”You need a herd, and so do I. So it’s only fitting, I guess, if my son and I join you,” Her last sentence was spoken matter-of-factly, but it also held her submission, her relief, the passing of the torch. Full responsibility no longer was laid on her. She was laying her trust in the ivory charger in front of her.

Alpine
The brute finished the few stray wisps of green grass in his face, slowly grinding them between pale chomps before raising his head to look at her. He stared at the dame and gave a small nod of his head as the ends of his kissers turned upwards.
Welcome to the Willow Forest.
He looked around completely and stepped forward, gently touching his muzzle to her shoulder in not so much of a romantic gesture, but a protective one. He turned to the young colt, gently blowing through his nostrils at him as he bobbed his head gently.
And if you wish it, i'd enjoy if you took the lead mare position.

His welcome sent a wave of relief rushing through her, starting at the crown of her ebony tassles and flowing through her until it ended in a heavy sigh through her dark nostrils. Looking toward Apline, she heard his last question, and kissers turned up in her feminine smile. "I would be privaleged," She said, once again feeling her duties flow back into her. And yet, they were not overwhelming anymore.

Alpine
Brute nodded and smiled at her, gray tresses falling down upon his neck in the slightly muggy weather and he blew air through the vents of his nostrils. He stayed close to both of them, feeling more protective than he had as he ate more grass, all the while keeping a close eye on their surroundings.
He gently reached his muzzle out again, touching her shoulder and whickering softly to her. As his lead one day when she was in heat we would wish that she would carry his first foal. Although he'd treat her colt like a son, he also wanted a foal of his own flesh and blood.
He stepped a bit closer and gently nuzzled the young colt, blowing air at his nostrils to give him the brutes scent.
